PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE – Dr. Blaine Kingsbury, DC, RTP, BCIM, DAAIM, DMBBT, brings many years of experience from around the world to the greater Kansas City area and the Prairie Star Functional Health Center which he co-owns with Dr. Robyn DeSautel, DC. Having worked in Peru, Germany, Dubai, Austria, Indonesia, and France, Dr. Kingsbury continues to work with patients from around the world.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS – After receiving his BA in Economics from Central Michigan University, Dr. Kingsbury earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California in 2001. Dr. Kingsbury has certifications in Integrative Medicine, Applied Kinesiology, and Trigenics Functional Neurology as well as being certified by the American Functional Neurology Institute. He’s also a Diplomate of manipulative and body-based therapies and a Diplomate of the American Association of Integrative Medicine. He was recently named as one of the Best Neuropathy Physicians in the country by the International Neuropathy Association and one of the Best Spinal Decompression Physicians in the country by International Medical Advisory Board on Spinal Decompression.
EXPERT PRACTITIONER FOR NEUROPATHY AND TRIGENICS – Dr. Kingsbury has had the honor of studying personally with some of the top neuropathy doctors in the US and has extensive post graduate training in the treatment of neuropathic pain. As an instructor for the Trigenics Institute of Functional Neurology, Dr. Kingsbury teaches other doctors and therapists around the United States.
SPECIALIST IN CARE OF ELITE ATHLETES – With his extensive training and reputation as the go-to health care provider for elite athletes, Dr. Kingsbury has had the honor of traveling with the World Karate Federation to tournaments around the world, working with professional athletes from over 130 countries, and with the #1 athletes from 14 countries. Many of his athlete patients travel from places like South America, Australia, and countries in Europe seeking treatment from him. He is currently serving on the Medical Advisory Board for USA National Karate Federation. He recently provided his expertise at the US Karate Open and Junior International Cup where over 2500 athletes from 40 countries participated.
RESEARCH AND KEYNOTE SPEAKER – Out of 10,000 entries, Dr. Kingsbury had two research papers (co-authored with researchers from Hong Kong and Iran) chosen to be presented at the Paralympics in Rio. He was chosen as a keynote speaker at the prestigious International Sports Symposium in Lintz, Austria where doctors from 130 countries were invited to attend.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE – Dr. Robyn DeSautel, DC, spent two years working for two other chiropractors before founding DeSautel Chiropractic in Seattle which she owned and operated for 23 years. Dr. Robyn has been dedicated to helping her patients attain a pain free and more active lifestyle. Recently, she moved to Kansas City to help establish Prairie Star Functional Health Center.
EDUCATION – Dr. Robyn R. DeSautel grew up in Montana, North Dakota and Iowa. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in pre-med and business at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and graduated with honors in 1988. She then took a year off to travel through Europe and the United States before starting her chiropractic practice.
In 1989, Robyn moved to Portland, Oregon to attend Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC). While there, she was voted Student Activity Director and Vice President of the Student American Chiropractic Association. During her year-long internship, she worked at the Portland Outreach Program for the homeless and was chosen to work as a student teacher in WSCC’s adjusting classes. After just three years, Dr. Robyn graduated the four year program with honors in 1992.
EXPERT PRACTITIONER FOR CALMARE PAIN RELIEF THERAPY – Dr. Robyn is one of the few trained practitioners in the revolutionary Calmare Pain Relief Therapy. She has brought this exciting new breakthrough treatment to the Prairie Star Functional Health Center to treat severe nerve pain.
ONGOING EDUCATION – Dr. Robyn has undertaken consistent and ongoing education to advance her training, both professionally and personally. Her additional training includes Peripheral Neuropathy, Spinal Rehabilitation, Whiplash Injuries, Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, Pettibon, SOT, Gonstead Activator, Palmer Method, Upper Cervical, Nutrition, Stretching, and PNT. She has taken over 300 post-graduate hours of Continuing Education and has taught numerous classes on posture and health. She is currently published in a book on Fibromyalgia by Mari Skelly and Andrea Helm and is working on a motivational book which is not yet published. Dr. Robyn is a member of Top Doctors, International Chiropractic Association, World Chiropractic Alliance, and Better Business Bureau.
PHILOSOPHY – Dr. Robyn believes strongly that spiritual training is even more important than physical training. She practices meditation regularly and does a lot of reading. Everything about her life and her practice is based on her philosophy that health and happiness come from within.
